For me I feel one of the most important things to help describes me is my makeup. I can not leave the house without it. Not only does it help me feel good about myself but helps describe the mood i may be in that day. Another reason makeup helps describe me is because i use it so much in my work. I'm an entertainer and makeup artist so makeup helps me change charatcers between perfromences or the work i have to do on a model.
As i said in above I am an entertainer I know there are many forms of
entetertainment I am more one illusion side of entertaiment. Not
illusions as I'm a majician but as in transforming myself into different
charecters. I live alone in a two bedroom two bath appartment where one
whole room is a stroage for just my costumes I have collected and used
over the years of working in the industry. I can honestly say more then
half my income goes to the purches of my costumes for my craft.
Last but not least the unless you really know me, and you wouldn't really be able to tell from looking at me, is that im a huge fan of country music. All though i grew up in a small red neck country town, where I did everything in my power to get out of there as soon as i could I love the counrty. Its funny I can be on the way to a night club or work with a car full of friends and it drives them crazy cause I'll be jamming to my country music in the car. So all though I live the city girl life style and love it, I'm just a country girl at heart.

Week 4 EOC: B to B vs. Consumer Marketing
"Few brands are more familiar than GE. For more than 130 years, we’ve packed our homes with GE products—from good ol’ GE lightbulbs to refrigerators, ranges, clothes washers and dryers, microwave ovens, dishwashers, coffee makers, room air conditioners, and hundreds of other products bearing the familiar script GE logo." (Marketing: An Introduction. Armstrong/Kotler pg. 158). When you come to think of it, you can walk around almost anywhere and find the GE logo. Just sitting here in my living room as i'm writing this blog I counted 7 items with it. So the question in hand is do you think GE has a better income from doing business to business sales or in the consumer market? "In its business markets, rather than selling to large numbers of small buyers, GE sells to a few very large buyers. Whereas it might be disappointing when a refrigerator buyer chooses a competing brand, losing a single sale to a large business customer can mean the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars in business." (Marketing: An Introduction. Armstrong/Kotler pg. 158)
"In some ways, business markets are similar to consumer markets. Both involve people who assume buying roles and make purchase decisions to satisfy needs. However, business markets differ in many ways from consumer markets. The main differences are in market structure and demand, the nature of the buying unit, and the types of decisions and the decision process involved." (Marketing: An Introduction. Armstrong/Kotler pg. 157) So in general all though the can be consider the yet different at the same time, its all comes down the the realationship between client and buyer. If us as the consumer are happy with the service of the client the demand of the product goes up, if the product sells goes up, the request of business to business goes up as well.

Week 4 BOC: There's an APP for the That.
Have you ever been walking down the street or shopping around the mall, notice the hot pair so heels you just have to have and said to yourself “I wonder where they got that at?” Of course you have. I like to consider myself a person who's into fashion and has a good eye for it but I don't always want to go up to a random stranger and ask them where they bought something. I’m sure I am not the only person who thinks the same way, be honest, I know your agreeing with me and laughing as you read this blog. If there was a way for me figure out how to create an application for an Iphone or Android smart phone my application would be called "Where did U get that!" With the “Where did U get that!” application you would be able to snap a quick picture of someone or some article of clothing, or accessory the person is wearing instead of having to go through the embaracement of walk up to a stranger and ask them where they purchieced the item at. This application would then show you a list of stores in your area you could possibly try and purchase it at. Once the application has shown you where you can purchase the item you could then tap another icon on the page and look for prices our a link to show you websites you could buy it online. With the “Where did U get that!” application would also allow you to go once step feather and see other items that you maybe interested in purchasing to go along with what the items you were interested in to began with. Basically the "Where did U get that?" application would be a one stop shopping without having to go all around town looking for where the girl that just walk by you got those hot heels you can not live without.
Week 3: My Demographics
Millennials (or Generation Y):
The 83 million children of the baby boomers,
born between 1977 and 2000.
77 percent of
Millennials frequent social networking sites and 71 percent use instant
messaging.
91 percent of
Millennials are on the Web, making up 32 percent of all U.S. Internet users.
The Millennials
were the first generation to grow up in a world filled with computers,
cellphones, satellite TV, iPods, and online social networks.
One thing that all
of the Millennials have in common is their utter fluency and comfort with
digital technology.
As a person growing up in the Millennial generation I do
find that it does match me pretty well. Im a club promoter and entertainer so I
use social networking on a daily bases. It helps me let everyone know what is
going on for the clubs I work or perform at. I was born in 1978 so I barely
made the mark for the Millennial generation so I’m not as technology smart as
people a few years younger, but I do know enough to get me through things.
Another statement for the Millennial generation is the use of cell phones and
instant messaging, that for sure is one thing that matches me perfect, I cant
do anything without my cell phone in hand. I do wish that I was thought more
about computers when I was going through school since now adays almost
everything is done with the use of them. There are a lot of mix feelings about
my generation and the way we rely so much on the use of the world wide web, some
people are saying it is making lazy cause we don’t reach out and research the
way we use to. As for my view I thing technology is actually helping us more
because it provides more information in a less amout to time and keeps us
interested.

Week 3: Making Money for Good
“Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) provides support and advocacy
for adults and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in southern
Nevada. AFAN works to reduce HIV infection through prevention education to
eliminate fear, prejudice and the stigma associated with the disease.”
http://www.afanlv.org/about-afan
Ever since ive been in Las Vegas I have
volunteer my time helping out with a handful of non-profit organizations, among
them is AFAN of Las Vegas. There a great group that helps out a lot of people
and even some of my close friends that are living with AIDS. One of there big
supporters of AFAN are the magicians Penn and Teller.
Penn and Teller have raised and donated
thousands of dollars over the years for
AFAN. Over the years they have spoke and perform for some of AFANs events. They
help spread knowledge of the importance of contributing to an important cause
and how this epidemic can effect anyone. Penn and Tell not only help spread the
word but challenge others to donate to AFAN.
“Las Vegas entertainers Penn & Teller
will serve as grand marshals for Aid for AIDS of Nevada's AIDS Walk set for
Apr. 15. The duo is also challenging participants to raise as much money as
possible under the Penn & Teller Challenge. They promise to match all funds
raised by members of the challenge, AFAN said.” http://www.fox5vegas.com/story/17242062/afan-aids-walk-includes-penn-teller-challenge
I personally have done the AFAN AIDS walk for the past 5 years and its a lot of fun, and have had the honor to meet and walk next to Penn and Teller. They speak before every walk and there words are so powerful and you can tell there honest and comes from the heart. Penn and Tellers contributions to AFAN to me are very appreciated because they have help fund the aid of a lot of people. “ Las Vegas. In addition to leading the Walk, Penn & Teller will again serve as Grand Marshals for the event. This year marks the twenty-second year of this particular AIDS Walk, which is largest fundraising event of the year for AFAN. The AFAN Walk in 2011 attracted over 8,500 participants and successfully raised more than $461,000 for the nonprofit organization” http://article.wn.com/view/2012/04/14/Penn_Teller_to_return_as_Grand_Marshals_of_the_AIDS_Walk_on_/

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games
I have personally never been a big video game person to say
the least so to research this topic is rather interesting to me. I’ve never
been the type of person to sit around for hours at a time and play warcraft or
vitiral car racing. As I’m reading up on the topic of video games it is not
surprising to me that in the modern day mobile devices, ipads, kindles and even
laptops are taking their place. “There’s a market
for something smaller, and the proof is in the explosion of mobile gaming. I
hear the same story over and over from people my age, who grew up on Nintendo:
They like video games, but don’t have 10 hours a week to commit to the hobby,
and therefore can’t justify spending $300 on a gaming machine. Instead, they
play games on their phones and tablets.” http://techland.time.com/2012/07/12/ouya-a-wake-up-call-for-video-games/
So basically after
reading that statement it got me thinking how much technology has changed over
the years. I remember being my nephew a Play station 3 for his 8th
grade graduation and now he just has it sitting there collecting dust. I’m not
sure if he just grew out of that phase out it’s because over the years there
has not been many more games added to their collection. “Poor battery life, the high price of memory cards and lack of
functionality of Remote Play are among a few of the reasons some gamers aren’t
interested, but opinion largely comes down to two things: price and games.” http://www.psu.com/a015167/70-percent-of-PS3-owners-passing-on-Vita-citing-price-and-lack-of-games?page=0
Through this research I found out there is mix reviews on
how the new WII U is going to do once it is launch. I actually have a WII myself that I bought to
do yoga, and let’s just say I’ve watch more movies on it then I have actually done
my yoga. As I said before that I myself don’t play video but now have better understanding
of the different systems that are out there. “So far video game
analysts have been less than impressed by the Wii U. Most think it will fail in
one way or another, while others are cautious, at best. But analysts from IHS
Screen Digest believe that the Wii U will not only be a success, it will be a
bigger success than the original Wii, initially.” http://wiiudaily.com/2012/11/analyst-wii-u-will-sell-50-million-units-in-4-years/

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Experience
The other day some friends and I
went out to eat at Bonito Michoacan Mexican restaurant, it’s just around
the corner from where I live so we go there often. The food is really
good and big portions great hangover food. The day we went in was pretty
busy so we had to wait a bit for a table, the hostess was nice and kept
apologizing for the wait since we are regulars there. Once we got to
our table the server got to us quickly and brought us our chips and
salsa. Of course as usual we had to have a bloody mary with our lunch to
start the day right. There was a table behind us with two young kids
that kept us entertained while we waited for our food. After what seem
to be forever to get our meal the server finally showed up. Our server
then told us there was a mix up in the kitchen so they had to remake one
of our dishes. You could tell he felt bad cause he kept saying how
sorry he was and offered us a dessert on him for the mix up. After a few
minutes the last dish came and was well worth the wait, the steam off
the plate give off a great smell. Our server was really nice guy and
kept checking up on us making sure we were doing well. After we were all
done he came back out with some fried ice cream and once again
apologized for the wait and mix up on the food. We all had a good laugh
and devoured the fried ice cream. He is one of the many reasons we keep
going back there and tell other friends about it. So if you’re ever in
west Vegas make sure to stop by and enjoy a great bloody mary and fried
ice cream.
Week 1 EOC: My Voice
Everyone has their own idea of what they want to become when they grow
up, and throughout the years as we grow we begin to either follow the
path of those childhood dreams or decide to change our paths, at least
most of us try to do so. When I was a child I use to dream of working in
the glamours business we call show. As I grew up and moved out of my
small country town of Uvalde, Texas and moved myself to our state
capital of Austin. I got a taste of working on the stage in local clubs
but craved more. In 2007 I pack up and moved to Las Vegas the "City of
Lights'. Through out my years of working in the clubs I began to get
more and more interested in the fashion side of things. I've help design
and create some amazing costumes and make up for a few events around
Las Vegas. I am taking the expriences I have had in the past and taking
them to the next level. I know longer want to create for someone else, I
want to create for myself. I plan to help create the next fashion
trends. With Fashions by Diva I plan to not only help others reach their
potential of looking and feeling confident but also provide a true
overall Diva experience.
